Career beginning

As a solo artist, Pink made a name for herself as the "white girl with soul". She would earn herself a Grammy award after collaborating on a song with Lil Kim,  Christina Aguilera,, and Mya  for the Labelle remake of "Lady Marmalade". Even after creating a name for herself and with a Grammy under her belt, Pink was not happy with the genre of R&B and desired a change.
After linking up with childhood idol, Linda Perry of
4 Non Blondes
, Pink was able to tap into her creative and abstract soul and in turn used music to heal the pain from her childhood. Their work together would give way to the chart topper "Family Portrait". Divorce, alienation, and the lows of love was the theme of her second album "Missundazstood," the singer's second album and first Pop-Rock album that went on to sell over 10 million copies. Taking the insatiable side of Pop on for size, "Missundazstood" was one of the first albums to go against all that was Pop, smearing the picture perfect genre with beautiful flaws.
As the outspoken person Pink is, the singer did not hide the fact that she does not take a liking to fellow artist and collaborator Christina Aguilera. Her dislike of Christina led to her strained relationship with Linda after the songwriter started working with Christina on her album "Stripped." Pink spoke of her problem with Linda and Christina's partnership by saying, "I took it really personal when she started working with other artists," Pink said about Linda Perry. "Especially artists I don't really like."

Family (Personal Life)

Pink had a High School Crush, named Carey Hart. She had NO idea that he had a crush on her also. By 2001 he was a professional motocross racer. They Lost touch and meet once again at X Games in Philadelphia. They started dating immediately! In 2005, Pink proposed to Hart during a Mammoth Lakes, California motocross race. She put a sign on his pit board saying "Will you marry me?" and on the other side she had "I’m Serious!" They got married in Costa Rica on January 7, 2005. After they were married Pink and Harts relationship changed.  Months after their perfect relationship. Pink announced in February 19, 2008 that they were separated. She made a song called “So What” and Carey was a part of the video and it was basically explaining their separation. August 2008 Pink was being very supportive to her husband when his brother died due to injuries sustained in a motocross competition. By March 2009 they were back dating and they were attempting to work things out. In April they started going to marriage counseling and never divorced. They said that the separation taught them not to try to change each other and that Pink needed to work on herself in order to save her marriage. In 2010 Pink and her husband were expecting their first child. She was born June 2, 2011 who was named Willow Sage Hart. They announced that now they have something to live for. Their daughter brought the even closer family together. No more separations.

Reflections

I agree then I disagree with the part of my topic and what I am writing. I disagree because when she was young she choosed bad decisions when her parents had a divorced. It’s like she grew up started to writing her own lyrics then started dancing and singing at clubs. I agree because her life story is very interesting. I’m really glad I choose Pink to do my research.
No this topic category didn’t make me think about anything else because I couldn’t imagine going through what she went to. I don’t ever want to see nobody go through what she went through.
The question I was left with is why did she try to keep her baby a secret. In every article I looked up it has nothing about her baby. On Google they barely had pictures of her and her baby. So I’m wondering why she tried to keep her baby a secret.
Yes I can relate this topic category to something that’s going on in the media today. Pink did things a lot of rappers and singers did/ do today so it’s really not suppressing. Some people continue to do what she did because they don’t think it’s a problem.
No neither one of my chosen people that I put in my category for my sources has a valid or a logical argument. My other sources choosed was Wiz Khalifa and Beyonce and their parents were very strict and they were spoiled. Pink didn’t have none of this as soon as her parents divorced her life went downhill.

Her Geners

Pink had a talent for music. By chance one evening, an executive from MCA took notice of the sassy teenager and asked her to audition for an R&B group that was forming. The group, known as Basic Instinct, welcomed Pink into the fold. Despite a record deal and plenty of studio time, the band never could find traction. Basic Instinct disbanded just two years after it was assembled. A second run with another R&B band, this one called Choice, also came to a quick end in 1998.
For Pink, though, neither experience was a disaster. Her talent was too hard not to notice, and with the support of LaFace, Choice's former label, she struck out on her own. She changed her name from Alecia Moore to her stage name of Pink.
Despite the newfound fame and success, Pink, who was never one to hide her true emotions, was far from satisfied. Fearful of being lumped in with the glut of pretty singers who dominated the market, Pink set her sights on a deeper, edgier sound. "There was no blood, sweat or tears on my first album," she told London's Daily Mail. "And no emotional exchange between me and the musicians. R&B is on a conveyor belt."

PETA (charities)

Pink, a vegetarian, is a prominent campaigner for PETA, contributing her voice toward causes such as protesting against KFC. She sent a letter to Prince William criticizing him for fox hunting and one to Queen Elizabeth II protesting the use of real fur in the bearskins of the Foot Guards and the Honorable Artillery Company. In Nov. 2006 (6 years ago), Pink mentioned in the News of the World that she was disgusted with fellow singer Beyonce for wearing fur. In conjunction with PETA, she criticized the Australian wool industry over its use of mulesing only after selling out her Australian tour dates. In Jan. 2007 (5 years ago), she stated that she had been misled by PETA about mulesing and that she had not done enough research before lending her name to the campaign. Her campaigning led to a headlining concert in Cardiff, Wales on Aug. 21, 2007 (5 years ago) called PAW (Party for Animals Worldwide). This highlighted her involvement with animal cruelty problems, as well as her unwavering commitment to contributing her voice toward such causes.
Pink is involved with many charities including "Phoenix vert", Human Rights Campaign, ONE Campaign, Prince's Trust, New York Restoration Project, Run For The Cure Foundation, Save the Children, Take Back the Night, UNICEF and World Society for the Protection of Animals. As of May 2008 (4 years ago) Pink has been officially recognized as an advocate for the RSPCA in Australia. On Feb. 16, 2009 (3 years ago), Pink announced she was donating $250,000 to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal to aid the victims of the bushfires that swept through the Australian state of Victoria earlier that month (a total of 173 people died in the fires, with around 500 injured, and 4000 homes lost). Pink claimed that she wanted to make "a tangible expression of support".

Early Life!

Singer, songwriter. Born Alecia Beth Moore on September 8, 1979, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Pink, as she's otherwise known, gets her name from the movie Reservoir Dogs, a film she saw as a teenager and whose character Mr. Pink is someone her friends all agreed she resembled.
Pink was the second child born to Jim and Judy Moore. She experienced a largely typical middle-class life in a suburb of Doylestown, Philadelphia. Her parents' tense relationship, however, caused the couple to divorce when Pink was 3. Their split and the subsequent demise of the marriage sparked, in part, a rebellious attitude from Pink. "I was never allowed to go over to any of my friends' houses when I was little, because I was a bad influence," she said of her early life. "None of their parents liked me and my own parents were scared to death of me— and for me."
Instead, Pink found solace in music, and as early as the age of 13 she was navigating the complicated Philly club scene. By the time she was 14, she was already an experienced vocalist and dancer, and started to write her own songs. She also had a regular singing gig every Friday night at a Philly nightclub. But it proved to be a hard life for her to manage, as she was swallowed by a world of drugs (she nearly overdosed at the age of 15) and petty crime. She eventually dropped out of high school before returning to earn her G.E.D. in 1998.
When she was 16 she made a group with two girls Stephanie Galligan and Chrissy Conway that formed the R&b group choice. They got  a deal with L.A but also worked with various producers for two years, never releasing an record. Then Pink was persuaded to go solo. She has a website (http://pinkspage.com/) her geners are Pop,rock, R&B, and dance. Her instruments is Vocals, guitar, piano, keyboard, and drums.
